Gavin's teacher told me about an experiment they were doing, in which they tested what happens to different items after being soaked in Dr. Pepper and Diet Dr. Pepper. The teacher suggested that they try a different version of the experiment at home. Not trying to be a wise guy, Gavin raised his hand and said, "We don't have soda at home, but can I try it with beer?"

Conferences
We had conferences with the twins' teachers this week. Everything went fine. Emma, we found, is a great helper to the teacher, and she's very strong in math. Gavin is also doing well- very serious about his books and gets deeply involved in class discussions.
Best day ever
He got up this morning, rolled out of bed, and said to me with his eyes half open, "Today is the best day of my life for 3 reasons. Number one, today's the day I get my metal for hockey. Number 2, today I get to play goalie for hockey. Number 3, I get to play Wii on the same day as all that."
